Responsibilities:
Ophthalmologists
are physicians who specialize in the treatment of eye disorders and diseases.
They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and
corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary, they preform eye surgery. Most
ophthalmologists are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals
or clinics, and others preform research.
Education
Requirements:
Only
physicians may study to become ophthalmologist. After completing medical school
and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year
residency in an approved ophthalmology program they must pass an examination to
be certified.

Psychiatrist

Responsibilities:
Psychiatrists
are physicians who specialize in the problems of mental illness. As
psychiatrist, they are licensed to use a wide variety of treatment sand may
write prescriptions.
Psychiatrist
may work for the government, have their own private practice, or work in hospitals,
clinics, or universities.
Their duties
include:
· Conducting research
· Leading a team of mental health care providers.
Average Salary: $90,000 - $200,000
In addition
to completing the requirements for a degree in allopathic or osteopathic
medicine, psychiatrists must complete an intensive three year residency in
psychiatry.
